Weekend rail repair plan
Passengers are urged to plan ahead this weekend, 4-5 May, as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork continues to build a more resilient and reliable network.
Trains will not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard, this weekend. For travel around the city, passengers will need to use the light rail between Central and Circular Quay, or local bus services. There are extra CBD light rail services running between 7am and 7pm across the weekend.
For passengers attending the Hoka Half Marathon on Sunday, the closest light rail stop to the start line is Bridge Street. For passengers attending other Moore Park sporting events, the light rail will run directly from Central Station with additional services running.
T4 trains will continue to run between Central and Bondi Junction, stopping at Town Hall, Martin Place and Kings Cross.
Across the weekend, buses replace trains on the T2 Inner West line between Strathfield and Central and on the T3 Bankstown Line between Lidcombe and Sydenham.
Between Friday night and Saturday morning there are also short periods where buses replace trains on sections of the T1 Western and T2 Inner West & Leppington lines.
On Sunday morning, buses replace trains on the T2 Leppington and T5 Cumberland lines between Cabramatta and Granville.
Sydney Trains will have around 865 workers carrying out a significant amount of work over this period, including turnout renewals, track reconstruction, track circuit renewals, rerailing and bridge refurbishment and the removal of 12 high-priority defects.
Some trains may run to changed stopping pattern and timetable. Passengers may need to change trains and are encouraged to allow extra travel time and plan ahead by visiting transportnsw.info or using trip planning apps.

Intercity
From 10.20pm Friday to 8am Saturday, trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only due to trackwork between Lidcombe and Strathfield.
Passengers should change at Penrith for express buses to Strathfield.
Metro
On the Metro North West Line, buses replace metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood due to planned trackwork for regular maintenance activities. Sydney Metro will also carry out testing for the upcoming metro extension into the Sydney CBD.
